In
our submission to enhance quality leadership among the All Co-Operative Farmers Association,
Edo State (ACFA),
and to ensure all activities of the association is operated transparently and
with decency, a constitution has been drafted and unanimously endorsed by the
members and Executive committee of the Association. Effective from today, the 7th
of January, 2013.
The committee/executives to pilot
the affairs of this association are drawn from various local government
affiliate groups in the state. And the coordinators from each zone are mandated
to sensitize and encourage other farmers to affiliate to this Association.
AND WHEREAS this Document is
designed to aid all members of The
Association Of Co-Operative Farmers, Edo State to acknowledge the fact that they belong to an
Association managed by business minded persons/individuals, who are farmers
that also have the interest of other farmers
in their hearts. They are either elected or appointed to pilot the affairs of
the association and its members for the betterment of all farmers taking refuge
in this Association. These fortunate business minded persons privileged to
serve as executive of this ACF are persons who have intentionally left other
personal relevant activities for the sake of the co-operative association.
Therefore, all affiliated members should bear in mind that the purpose of
coming together is to create an avenue where they will be of good use to one
another. And not a boulevard to start finding faults with one other. Base on this
fact, this document is expected to serve as rules and regulations or
constitution for this association.
All members/affiliates of the ACF
have the collective intension to liberate and strengthen our economy, conserve
our productive venture, and most importantly make for economic self-reliance.
To succeed therefore, new members willing to register as affiliate of this
Association must remember that other great enterprise we see around us growing
rapidly today, does not just achieve greatness through romanticizing their
potentials for greatness; nor do they become great, serving as a convenient dumping
ground for all frustrated and non responsible or inexperience
set of people, who are not ready to sacrifice part of their effort to
make others succeed, or those persons who do not find pleasure in assisting
others to grow.
Consequently, the crucial
decision we have made because we wish to succeed therefore, is hereby collated
and written down here as a document, which you are privileged to have right in
your arms. It contains the resolves reached by the ACF members/affiliates, etc.
As we earlier understood, these great enterprises we see around us growing
rapidly today may have also experienced temporary suffering, inconveniences of
apparent scarcity. They may have even understood that to succeed promptly is
not by producing for oneself alone, but to also produce for export in order to
generate fund with the business of the organization/association so that success
will be enhanced. The fact is as we practice, we gradually become perfect.
THEREFORE all members/affiliates of this
Association should bear in mind that he/she cannot benefit from a
venture/business enterprise or a risk he/she has not participated in; for
instance, a farmer suffers when he sows and enjoy when he reap. Intending
members must endeavor to play his/her legitimate role of making this
Associations’ program/projects succeed. This means that every affiliate of this
great body must always subscribe to the Associations’ programs. After which
he/she can talk about benefits; when it become apparent that the fruit of
his/her labor has been achieved. Thus, No members of this Association should
ever think of benefiting from the Association if he does not support the
venture of the group. As no one can benefit from what he was not a part of.
The
executives and all members/affiliates of this body have deliberated,
constructively upon, the various ideas submitted by members in respect of this
constitution, in the Associations’ meeting, held on the January 5th, 2013,
the resolve of which is hereby endorsed by this ALL
CO-OPERATIVE FARMERS ASSOCIATION, EDO STATE. (ACFA) Which is also known
as the FARMERS CO-OPERATIVE ASSOCIATION, EDO STATE. This document will
henceforth serve as the
laws and regulation, guiding all the activities of This All Co-Operative Farmers Association, Edo State. It
is hereby approved for use this
FIFTH
day of JANUARY,
in the year of our lord TWENTY, THIRTEEN (2013).
This
constitution is entitled to such change, as is deemed necessary for the
interest of the members of this
Association,
in order to foster the promotion of the welfare of all members of ACFA.
AND WHEREAS it is
necessary for the constitution to be vested with the law. because the Association
is made up of farmers’ co-operative societies, the principles and structures of
the co-operative movement will be applied. And anyone who wishes to serve in
the position of responsibility in the association must be expected to apply the
ethics of the good co-operative member.
